Abandoned and Alone

Alone and cold, three kittens, less than a month old, were dumped on the PAWS Kingston Adoption Center’s doorstep. The note said, “Help! Mama left them.” Someone had tucked their Sherpa pullover in a cardboard box and abandoned the kittens before our facility was even open. Who knows how long they had sat out in the cold before our Volunteer Adoption Counselor arrived that day? The only clue we have is we received an anonymous voicemail tip that they had driven by our center and saw a box of kittens on our doorstep.

Luckily our caring volunteer rushed into action, contacting our professional staff for help. A loving foster family was immediately found and they raised the three kittens as their own, feeding and socializing them to not be frightened of humans.

PAWS has brought in 62 litters of kittens from the cold already this year alone. With your support, we can care for and socialize them, allowing them to become healthy, loving and adoptable companions. Without your gifts, they would suffer in the cold, starving and probably not survive.

But this story has a happy ending, Rue, Effie and Haymich have all found loving forever families. Your gifts save lives!
