What do you get when you pair a senior citizen who lives alone and who is a life-long beagle fan, with an older beagle boy who was languishing in rescue? A match made in heaven!
As part of our PALS Placement Program, Michael and Herc had a meet and greet one sunny afternoon and it was love at first sight. After a couple of months the pair continues to be inseparable. Michael’s family has been amazed at the extra bounce in Michael’s step and how much more active he has become with a dog who needs walking a couple of times every day.
Being a beagle, Herc often thinks that every walk should be “on the hunt” but PAWS staff continues to stay connected with the pair, working on training issues and providing advice and support to help their partnership thrive.
